Shoreham-Wading River Superintendent Steven Cohen is expected to discuss his preliminary budget for the 2014-15 school year on Tuesday night, according to the school board’s meeting agenda.
During the school board’s Feb. 4 meeting, Mr. Cohen recommended closing Briarcliff Elementary School and said the district’s options include transforming it into a pre-kindergarten building (if the state provides funding for the program), renting the space out or keeping it vacant.
In addition to discussing his proposed spending plan, Mr. Cohen is expected to give a presentation about the middle school’s academic intervention services and student support.
