Florence R. Trutner

Former longtime Riverhead resident Florence R. Trutner of St. James died Feb. 27. She was 97.

She was born March 13, 1916, in Hempstead to Jane A. (Walsh) and Daniel Readyoff.

Ms. Trutner was predeceased by her husband, George, in 2003; her son George and her daughter, Rita, in 1994. She is survived by her son Glenn, of St. James; her sister, Jane Becker of Connecticut; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild on the way.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead. A graveside service took place March 1 at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Riverhead, officiated by Father Larry Duncklee. Interment took place at the church cemetery.
