Riverhead Corps puts new ambulance into service

The Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps unveiled a new ambulance last week.

It’s a little longer, a little taller, and — most importantly — a little safer.

The Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps put its newest ambulance into service last week.

The new vehicle is about six inches longer and is outfitted with LED lights inside, the corps chiefs said. The ambulance is also outfitted with cameras on the outside that will “aid in backing up and seeing on both sides for turning,” said assistant chief Lisa Corwin.
