Riverhead senior Brandon Tolliver, a four-year varsity veteran who played a pivotal role in the Blue Waves’ league title in 2012-13, will continue his basketball career at SUNY New Paltz.

BrandonTolliver_0115A versatile all-around player, Tolliver overcame a serious knee injury at the end of last season that jeopardized his chances of playing college ball. After months of rehab, Tolliver returned to the Blue Waves’ lineup for the start of the 2013-14 season and was once again an impact player.

In his career, he’s earned all-league, all-conference and academic all-county honors. Tolliver is a standout in the classroom, with a 91. 8 grade point average, according to a press release.

“Brandon has been a class act on and off the basketball,” head coach John Rossetti said in a release. “His commitment to the basketball program has been truly appreciated and his leadership will be missed. I wish Brandon the best of luck as he begins the next chapter of his life.”

New Paltz is a Division III school that competes in the State University of New York Athletic Conference. New Paltz finished the most current season with a 6-19 record.
