So, did you find it strange to hear the rain? Think about it for a moment. We haven’t heard rain since … December? When snow falls, it’s quiet; rain is not! My Brookie was pretty jumpy for a while as she is not a fan of loud noises. However, since the rainfall my gardens have come alive!

Kent Animal Shelter, on River Road in Calverton, will host a fundraiser, “An Evening of Comedy,” May 16 (I will remind you) at Hotel Indigo in Riverhead to raise money for homeless pets. Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the door. There will be hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, chinese auction, raffles, pet boutique, scavenger hunt and more. Do go. Feel free to call Kent at 727-5731 for tickets, more information or your next new best friend!

Happy birthday to my sister, Linda White, who celebrated April 2, and to Baiting Hollow resident Billy Kappenberg, also on the 2nd, from all your family and friends. We hope you both enjoyed your day!

Congratulations to Patti and Rowland Hautsch, who will celebrate 40 years of marriage April 14. God bless you both. May you continue to share your love. From all your family (including Ryan, who is always with us) and friends, congratulations and enjoy your very special day!

Congratulations to the Riverhead Rotary Club on a spectacular spaghetti dinner. It was better than ever and next year can’t come fast enough. Hey, how about two a year? Just saying!

Enjoy the warmth, plant your pansies, rake your gardens, have fun. Take care, be safe and I will talk to you next time. Bye.
