BLUE WAVES 4, FALCONS 1

Kenny Simco and Bobby Dilworth combined on a four-hitter to help Riverhead to its fourth consecutive baseball win, a 4-1 non-league victory over host Deer Park on Thursday afternoon.

Simco (2-0) pitched the first six innings before Dilworth relieved him at the start of the bottom of the seventh inning.

The Blue Waves (4-1) did most of their damage in the top of the first as left fielder Brian Brenton singled in two runs and Dilworth added another run-scoring hit against Deer Park (0-4).

Riverhead added a run in the sixth without the benefit of a hit as Brenton, who led of with a walk, went to second on a Simco sacrifice, to third on a Dilworth groundout and scored on an error by shortstop Oliver Taveras.

The Blue Waves will begin Suffolk County League IV play with a three-game series against Half Hollow Hills West (4-0) away on Tuesday. They will host their foes on Wednesday before playing away at Hills West again next Friday.
