A Wading River man who police say recorded images of a woman for “sexual gratification” is facing a grand jury indictment Friday.

Police say Curran Lee Kirchner, 32, used a video surveillance device to record a 29-year-old female for his own “sexual arousal or sexual gratification,” according to court documents.

The incident took place sometime last summer at Mr. Kirchner’s 16th Street residence in Wading River, where he currently lives alone, according to a report.

Mr. Kirchner is being charged with second-degree unlawful surveillance, a felony, Justice Allen Smith said during Mr. Kirchner’s arraignment Wednesday morning.

Mr. Kirchner’s legal aid attorney, Steven DeVito, asked that bail be set at $5,000. Justice Smith set bail at $25,000 bail due to “the gravity of the charge,” adding that additional counts may be filed.

Justice Smith said Mr. Kirchner is a father of two who has worked as a radio technician at Integrated Wireless Technologies in Quogue for about a year.

Mr. Kirchner is due in county criminal court Friday morning.
