Russell S. Langhorne

Russell S. Langhorne of Riverhead died May 16 at Medford Multicare Center for Living. He was 78. 

Mr. Langhorne was born Aug. 18, 1935, in Cumberland Va., to Bertha (Goff) and Andrew Langhorne and was employed as a construction worker and laborer for Local Union 66 in Melville.

He is survived by his sons Russell, of Medford, and Jeffrey, Robert, Dewey and Andrew, all of Riverhead; his daughter, Angie, of Georgia; his brothers, Robert, of Georgia, Tom and Bernard, both of Riverhead, and Sherman, of Virginia; his sisters, Annie Harris of Riverhead and Luerine Allen of Virginia; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors May 22 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church in Riverhead. A funeral service will be held Friday, May 23, at 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will take place at Riverhead Cemetery.
