Cops: Southampton man busted with crack cocaine

Southampton Town Police arrested a man in Flanders earlier this week for possession of crack cocaine after he was stopped for a traffic infraction on County Road 104.

Todd P. Markham, 42, of Southampton was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and failure to pay a bench warrant, police said.

Mr. Markham was pulled over about 10:32 p.m. Tuesday and police discovered he had a bench warrant for failing to pay a fine related to a harassment charge from 2009, police said. Police also allegedly found a crack pipe and a quantity of crack cocaine in his possession.

He was arrested at the scene, transported to police headquarters and held for a morning arraignment.
