Norma L. Hinsch

Norma L. Hinsch, of Laurel and Plainview, died June 16 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Port Jefferson. She was 89. 

She was born March 17, 1925, in Manhattan to John and Elsa Bunke. Ms. Hinsch was a homemaker, who family members said enjoyed studying nutrition, Bible study and leading prayer groups. She was a member of Order of St. Luke and Valparaiso Guild.

Ms. Hinsch was predeceased by her husband, the Rev. John C. Hinsch in 1998 and is survived by her children, John (Judy) of Plainview, James (Lisa) of Laurel, Paul (Krista) of Bethpage, Peter (Kathy) of Southold, Lois (David) Birner of Grafton, Wis. and Priscilla of Fairview Park, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors Wednesday, June 18, from 7 to 9 p.m. and will continue Thursday, June 19, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue. A funeral service will take place Saturday, June 21, at 10:30 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Plainview. Interment will take place at St. Margaret’s Cemetery in Plainview.

Memorial donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Rocky Point.
