Cops: DWI leads to unlicensed operation charge

A Flanders man who was stopped by police for failing to maintain his lane of travel along Flanders Road early Saturday morning is facing DWI and unlicensed operation charges, Southampton Town Police said.

Elder H. Ponce Ortega, 31, was stopped shortly after 2 a.m. at the intersection of Donald Avenue, police said. It was determined that he was driving drunk and without a license, police said.

He was transported to police headquarters and held for arraignment, police said.
