State troopers report 3 DWI arrests in Riverhead, Flanders

New York State police reported catching three drunk drivers in Riverhead and Flanders over the past 10 days.

Last Saturday, state troopers pulled over David Rojas-Lima, 25, of Medford on Flanders Road after he “made an unsafe U-turn,” according to police. Police said Mr. Rojas-Lima was drunk; he was arrested, charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, and released with a future court date.

Another man was stopped while driving, this time on Lake Avenue in Flanders, last Monday, police said. Santos Moreno, 47, of Riverhead was charged with misdemeanor DWI and released, police said. He is due back in court later this month.

On Sunday, a Floral Park man was charged with DWI after he was pulled over on Route 58 in Riverhead for a traffic violation, police said. Brian Babikian, 32, was released with a future court date, police said.
