Cops: Burglar harasses Roanoke Avenue couple

PDHQRiverhead Police arrested a Flanders man shortly after midnight today after they said he broke into a Roanoke Avenue home and harassed a couple living there.

Police said they received a call around 12:20 a.m. that a man had broken into the home and physically harassed a man living there. Authorities located the burglar within minutes of the call, who was operating a vehicle just a short distance from the home.

The man was ID’d by the victim as 38-year-old Alfredo Chitay-Concoba. A woman living at the home had an order of protection against Mr. Chitay-Concoba, police said.

He was charged with second-degree burglary and first-degree criminal contempt, both felonies. He was also charged with second-degree harassment, a violation. Mr. Chitay-Concoba was transported to police headquarters and held for arraignment.
