Riverhead detectives have asked for the public’s help in gathering information about a car crash that hospitalized two people with non-serious injuries Thursday morning, according to a press release.

Police said a tan Chrysler SUV crashed into the back of a 2009 Honda CRV that was making a left turn into Lewins Farm Stand on Sound Avenue about 10:15 a.m. The two people driving in the Honda — a 68-year-old Brentwood woman and a 66-year old Nesconset woman — were hospitalized at Peconic Bay Medical Center with “non life threatening injuries.”

The driver of the SUV, a 35-year-old woman from Cutchogue, was taken by Wading River ambulance to Stony Brook University, also with non-serious injuries, according to the report.

Though no one was arrested, both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Police have asked anyone with information on the crash to contact detectives at (631) 727-4500 ext. 327.
