Cops: Wading River man tased after fighting in parking lot
A Wading River man who allegedly refused to stop fighting in a Hampton Bays supermarket parking lot was tased by a Southampton Town police officer last week.
According to an arrest report, 22-year-old Brendan Schecker was involved in a fight in the Wild By Nature lot about 7:35 p.m. last Saturday. Mr. Schecker was ordered to stop fighting by a town cop, but refused and was tased, according to the report.
The 22-year-old was arrested at the scene and taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center for treatment, police said. He was released from the hospital and charged with resisting arrest, a misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a violation.
