Cops: Woman airlifted following head injury from a fall

A woman was airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center after receiving a head injury from a fall inside a home Thursday night, Riverhead police and fire department officials said.

Police said the accident occurred at a home on Crows Nest Drive in Riverhead at around 9:50 p.m.

Riverhead Fire Department officials secured a landing zone for the Medevac rescue on Sound Avenue near Roanoke Avenue.

No other details about the incident were immediately available.
