Congratulations to Bob and Mary Raffel, two awesome people who just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary and renewed their vows. They had a wonderful party attended by family and friends. Mary and Bob, I love you both dearly and wish you lots of love and happiness in your future together. We had a great time celebrating with you. God bless and congratulations!

A surprise baby shower was held Saturday for Becky and Garrett Sendlewski of Calverton. Becky was indeed surprised! Her mom and sister came from Connecticut and other family members traveled from New Jersey and Massachusetts. The “baby girl”-themed shower was organized by Garrett’s mom, Ann, and it was beautiful. Now we await the arrival of their daughter. Stay tuned!

The Polish Town Fair is once again in the history books. It was fun to see old friends and eat some awesome Polish food. Yum!

Congratulations to my buddy Gene Sendlewski, who got married this past weekend, twice, in two days. Curious? Gene was the groom for the wedding ceremony held at the Polish Fair. The the entire wedding party did a great job!

Belated happy 1st birthday wishes to Jack Hartenstein, who lives across the street from the farm, on Aug. 7. He is adorable. Lots of kisses and hugs from mommy and daddy and your two older brothers.

Belated birthday wishes also go out to my niece Holly White, who celebrated Aug. 15. We love you and hope you had a great day! Doug Vogel also celebrated on the 15th. Happy birthday from all your family and friends.

Put your walking shoes on! Kent Animal Shelter is hosting a “Wines and Canines” run/walk Sept. 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Baiting Hollow Farm Vineyard. The rain date is Sept. 28. There will be a chinese auction, raffles and a pet boutique. Low-cost vaccines and micro-chipping will also be offered. Why not take a nice walk during harvest time? The event benefits the cats and dogs at Kent. Call 727-5731 for more information.

Feel better, Gerry Meade! Keep your chin up and know that we love you dearly.

There’s an early deadline for the Labor Day issue. If anyone has news for me please contact me by Thursday, Aug. 28. Thanks!

That’s all for now. Be safe, have fun and I shall talk to you next time. Bye.
