Jamesport FD extricates trapped driver from pickup truck
A driver trapped inside a pickup truck after crashing into a tree on Main Road in Jamesport Thursday was extricated from the vehicle, Jamesport Fire Department officials said in a press release.
The victim was driving alone when crashed the front end of his late model pickup truck at around 7:20 p.m., officials said.
The Jamesport Fire Department, rescue squad and heavy rescue unit, as well as the Riverhead Town Police Department and Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance, responded to the scene and assisted in the rescue efforts, officials said.
The victim was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
