Cops: Man broke order of protection, kicked woman in head

A 36-year-old man violated a court stay-away order Sunday night when he kicked a woman in the head while she was driving because she “wouldn’t take him to buy drugs,”according to a Riverhead Town police press release.

The man — identified by police as Paul Booker Jr. of Riverhead — was charged with felony criminal contempt and harassment, a violation, police said.

Cops were called to a residence on Doctors Path for a reported dispute about 10:18 p.m., according to the police statement. Police determined that Mr. Booker had kicked the victim, who had an order of protection against Mr. Booker for prohibiting “acts of violence and physical harassment,” police said.

Mr. Booker was arrested at the scene and taken into police headquarters. He was held for arraignment Monday morning.

Mr. Booker was arrested in 2011 for alleged burglary.
