Former Jamesport resident Jessie A. Celic died Aug. 23 at Greenwich Hospital, Greenwich, Conn. She was 88.
Born in Riverhead on Jan. 1, 1926, she was the daughter of Frank A. and Sophie Cichanowicz Sr.
Ms. Celic was a financial services executive associated with the North Fork Bank and Trust Company in Mattituck for most of her professional career. She held various positions at NFBT, lastly vice president and comptroller. In 1978 she moved to Stamford, Conn. and held officer positions at New Canaan Bank and Trust Company, New Canaan Savings Bank and Gateway Bank until her retirement in 1992. She lived in Stamford until 2012, when she moved to the Mews in Greenwich, Conn.
Ms. Celic is survived by her sister, Stephanie Pollack of Leonard, Texas and a daughter, Margaret A. Celic of Wilton, Conn.
A funeral Mass was held at St Thomas More Church in Darien Conn. Sept. 5. Ms. Celic’s ashes will be placed at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Riverhead.
