Traffic stop leads to three arrests in Riverhead

Two men were arrested on drug charges and the driver of the car they were passengers in was also brought into custody following a traffic stop Friday night, Riverhead Town Police said.

Tracy Pavlicko, 34, of Middle Island was observed failing to use a turn signal while driving on Charles Street in Riverhead shortly before 10:30 p.m. and she was stopped a short time later heading east on Main Road, police said.

Two passengers in her car, John Sanders, 43, of Riverhead and Lonnie Pray, 53, who police say is undomiciled, were found to be in possession of narcotics, but police did not disclose the type of drug in a press release issued late Friday night.

Mr. Sanders was charged with both fifth and seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and a count of unlawful possession of marijuana, police said. Mr. Pray was charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said. Ms. Pavlicko was charged with multiple vehicle and traffic violations, police said.

All three are expected to be arraigned in Riverhead Town Justice Court Saturday morning.
