Police searching for man who cashed fraudulent check

Riverhead police are looking for a man who allegedly cashed a fraudulent check worth $4,300 at the Bank of America in Riverhead in August. 

Police said the man used an ATM at 4:32 p.m. Aug. 29 to authorize the transaction. Anyone with information to help identify the man is asked to contact the police tip line at 631-727-4500, ext. 633.

The man faces a charge of criminal possession of a forged instrument, police said.
