Jamesport Meeting House is hosting a wonderful concert you won’t want to miss. Italian virtuoso concert pianist Paolo Bartolani will open the Meeting House’s fall season with a program of solo works on its recently donated 1902 Kimball grand piano Saturday, Nov. 1, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $18 in advance at jamesportmeetinghouse.org; $20 at the door. Student tickets are $8 in advance; $10 at the door.

Mr. Bartolani is an incredibly expressive performer who has appeared as piano soloist with chamber ensembles throughout Italy and France. He collaborates with cellists Rene Benedetti of the Opéra-Bastille Orchestra in Paris and Luigi Piovano of Symphony Orchestra Santa Cecilia in Rome. When he’s not touring, Mr. Bartolani is the director of the Association Résonnance-Italy, a nonprofit that promotes classical music throughout Europe and the U.S. We are very lucky that personal connections have brought Mr. Bartolani briefly to the North Fork. For tickets and information, call Richard Wines at 722-5170 or email [email protected].

Save the date! Also at Hallockville on Saturday, Nov. 15, from 1 to 4 p.m. join Jeri Woodhouse of A Taste of the North Fork and certified master food preserver Mark Vosburgh for an “Edible Gifts for the Holidays” hands-on workshop. Home cooks will learn how to prepare delectable, edible gifts using seasonal, local produce. Recipes are still being finalized, but an example includes brandied fruit. Materials are included and participants will leave with their own jars. Class is held at a commercial kitchen facility in Cutchogue. The address will be provided after registering. Cost: $35/$25 museum members, plus $10 materials fee. Register online at hallockville.com or call 298-5292.
