Riverhead’s dormant offense came to life Saturday in a bounce-back win over North Babylon in the final home game of the regular season.

The Blue Waves raced out to a 21-0 first quarter lead and never looked back in a 38-6 victory over the Bulldogs in Division II.

Riverhead improved to 5-2 heading into next weekend’s showdown against unbeaten Bellport (7-0).

Riverhead quarterback Kenny Simco threw three touchdown passes in Saturday’s win, including one to running back Ryun Moore. Moore also scored on a 43-yard run and finished with 78 yards. Simco threw for 116 yards.

The Blue Waves’ offense had been held scoreless in its previous game last week against East Islip. The Blue Waves scored twice in that game, once on defense and once on special teams.

The 38 points Saturday was one shy of the Blue Waves’ season high, which came in Week 2 against Smithtown East.
