The Shoreham-Wading River football team’s final home game has been switched to Friday afternoon, according to Section XI.

The Wildcats were originally set to host Port Jefferson at 2 p.m. Saturday. The game will now be at 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Poor weather is forecast for Saturday. Shoreham was concerned playing on a rainy day could tear up the field prior to the team’s postseason. The Wildcats are in position to host two playoff games. The county championship game, should the team advance that far, is at Stony Brook University.

It’ll be a busy afternoon on the Shoreham campus. The girls soccer team is hosting Harborfields in the semifinals of the Class A playoffs at 2 p.m. That game has a $6 admission.

The football team is currently 7-0 and in position to close out its first-ever unbeaten regular season with a win Friday. The Royals come into the game 4-3 and in seventh place in Division IV power rankings.
