Minnie Rose, a high-end clothing line specializing in luxury women’s cashmere, opened its first brick-and-mortar shop at Tanger Outlets in Riverhead last week.

“We’re excited about the response to the cashmere and just educating everyone about who Minnie Rose is,” said a spokeswoman for the store’s owner, Lisa Shaller-Goldberg.

The store, which offers discounted prices on its products, is located next to Aldo in Tanger 2 and was formerly occupied by The Sunglass Hut.

“Other brands sprinkle in a little bit of cashmere, but no one really stands for it the way we do,” the spokeswoman said.

Launched in 2006 by Ms. Shaller-Goldberg, a former East Coast representative for Juicy Couture, the New York City-based brand is popular with celebrities like the Duchess of Cambridge, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Garner and Britney Spears, according to minnierose.com.

On Long Island, the label’s collection of cashmere sweaters, wraps, dusters, shawls, scarves, hats and more are sold at specialty stores from the border of Queens to Amagansett, the spokeswoman said.

But Ms. Shaller-Goldberg, who designs all of the brand’s products, decided Tanger Outlets’ location at the gateway of the North and South forks made it an ideal place to establish a more permanent presence, the spokeswoman said.

“We said, ‘What a perfect place’ … Not every store carries all of our items, so it’s a great way to showcase all the pieces of the brand,” she said.
