Troy Lee Johnson

Troy Lee Johnson of Riverhead died Nov. 18 at Peconic Bay Medical Center. He was 52. 

He was born Nov. 5, 1962, in Riverhead to Betty Rollins and Barry Johnson. He served his country in the U.S. Army and traveled throughout Europe. Mr. Johnson moved with his family to Orlando, Fla., in 2002 and worked at Universal Studios  for 12 years.

Mr. Johnson was a member of the House of Praise Christian Revival Center, under the Rev. Pastor Mary A. Cooper.  He was the first ordained deacon and Sunday school superintendent of House of Praise and also served as the head deacon and taught Sunday school to young men. Family members said he was a born-again Christian and loved the Lord.

He married Marysa A. (Cooper) Johnson of Riverhead Jan. 21, 1983, in San Antonio, Texas. Family members said Mr. Johnson was blessed with a large and loving family, helping to raise his four daughters, who they said he loved and was very proud of.  Family members also said he would be greatly missed.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, of Orlando; his four daughters, Karyssa, Alyssa, Malyssa, and Laryssa Johnson, all of Orlando; his brother, Derick Randall, of Riverhead; his sisters, Maryeta Booker of Overlea Md, and Marylin Winter and Maryona Williams, both of Riverhead; and many other family and friends. He was predeceased by his mother and his grandparents Cyrus and Dorothy Randall.

Cremation was private and handled by Joseph A. Slinger-Hasgill Funeral Services Inc. in Amityville.
