Live coverage from Tuesday night’s big snow plow hearing

liveblog

The Riverhead Town Board held a public hearing Tuesday that ran for almost three hours.

The subject was a proposal to allow the town highway department to plow snow on certain private roads, as it has done in the past, even though state law prohibits it.

There’s one big catch, though. Those roads would have to ditch their “private” signs and allow the public in.

Reporter Tim Gannon covered the entire event live. Scroll in the blog box below to see what was said.
