One person was injured after a single-car accident on Main Road Monday night, Jamesport firefighters said.

The crash happened about 9:40 p.m. just west of Tuthills Lane, where firefighters found a heavily damaged vehicle that had driven off the road and was leaking fluid, officials said.

It appeared the car struck a telephone pole and concrete pillar one the eastbound side of Main Road.

Jamesport Fire Department personnel responded with a fire engine, heavy rescue truck and rescue squad EMTs.

The driver was treated at the scene and taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center by the Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

No passengers were in the vehicle and the driver’s name was not released.

Riverhead police did not issue information about the crash.
