The First Baptist Church of Riverhead is hosting its 30th annual Christmas concert this Sunday.

The church’s 35-member choir is set to sing the story of Christmas in its own special way, choir director Rose Palmore said.

“We sing the songs that give us strength within the context of the story,” Ms. Palmore said. “When we talk about the Wise Men coming and how they left praising God, we attach a praise song to line up with what we believe.”

The 90-minute concert starts at 6 p.m. will also feature performances by Riverhead High School Chamber Choir.

Guests are invited downstairs to enjoy refreshments after the concert. Admission is free.

“This concert is our Christmas gift to the community,” Ms. Palmore said. “It is an open forum and if you want to have a great time and set the holiday off right then just show up.”
