Former Riverhead resident Charles Edward “Charlie” Trinowski Sr. of Franklin, N.C. died Dec. 23 at Veterans Hospital in Asheville, N.C. after a long battle with cancer. He was 82.
He was born in Riverhead, moved to Florida in 1955 and settled in Franklin after a long career as a master electrician.
Mr. Trinowski is survived by his wife, Nancy; his son Steven, his daughter Barbara Jean Freed; two stepsons, John and David Crounthamel; a stepdaughter Carol Smith; 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and his sister, Alice Zaleski. He was predeceased by his daughter Deborah Gonzalez; his son Charles Trinowski Jr. and his stepdaughter Connie Lee Cherrette.
A private memorial is planned. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, Charles George Veterans Administration Medical Center in Asheville, N.C.
