The Riverhead Middle School Masques open their production of “Scrooge” tonight in the Pulaski Street School Auditorium.

A retelling of Charles Dickens classic “A Christmas Carol,” the show is directed by Edward Tholl Jr. and produced by Patricia Skura. The show starts at 7 p.m. tonight and performances run Friday and Saturday through Jan. 31.

Tickets are $8 in advance, available from Ms. Skura (369-6767), or at the door for $10.

More than 35 students in seventh and eighth grade are working on the production in conjunction with parents, professional actors and community members who serve as mentors.

Scrooge will be played by Kyle Frost; Bob Cratchit by Jacob Raynor and the ghosts of past and present are played by Samantha Bronjes and Marissa Tedesco.
