A 43-year-old Flanders man was arrested Tuesday on felony charges for providing false information at the Department of Motor Vehicles in Riverhead, police said.

Salvatore R. Centore was arrested following a months long investigation conducted in cooperation with the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles Investigator Unit, according to Riverhead police.

Mr. Centore is accused of using a social security card that didn’t belong to him and signing documents under a false name, detectives said.

Mr. Centore was arraigned in Riverhead Justice Court where he was remanded to the Suffolk County Correctional Facility until a later court date, police said.
