The Shoreham-Wading River boys basketball team was seeded fourth in the Class A playoffs and will face No. 5 Sayville Feb. 17.

The Wildcats will host the Golden Flashes at 7 p.m. with the winner advancing to play top-seeded Bayport-Blue Point Feb. 20.

Shoreham finished in a tie for second place in League VI with a 9-3 record. The Wildcats were 14-4 overall. Sayville went 13-5 this season and was 8-2 in League V. Both of Sayville’s league losses were against Harborfields, the No. 2 seed in Class A.

The Wildcats were the only local boys hoops team to reach the playoffs. Riverhead finished one game short with a 6-8 record in League III. The Blue Waves needed four straight wins to close out the regular season; they won three.
