Calverton News: Rotary Club hosting spaghetti dinner March 4

OK, I don’t like the ice. Plain ol’ snow is good but this stuff is not my idea of fun. I did, however, finally make some snowmen. Spending time in the snow with two grandchildren, two dogs and one awesome daughter-in-law made last Sunday the best! We had a great time and our “snow family” looks amazing. Go ahead, get out of your chair, bundle up, and create and have some fun.

Mark your calendar! Riverhead Rotary Club will once again host its annual spaghetti dinner to benefit the community March 4 at Riverhead Polish Hall. If you’ve never attended, you need to. Not only will you enjoy a delicious meal, you’ll get to spend time with family and friends and have a great time. Stay tuned here for more details.

Happy birthday to Jim and Laura Niewadomski, who will both celebrate as first-time parents. Jimmy’s is Feb. 17 and Laura’s is Feb. 20. Their son, Mason, who was christened Jan. 18, is adorable! Jim and Laura are awesome parents who are simply in love with their little guy. Happy birthday to you from your friends and family, especially Mason.

Belated happy birthday to my hero, Trisha Yakaboski, who celebrated last week. Not only did she celebrate a birthday, she also enjoyed a baby shower that was thrown for her and the little boy she is expecting soon! Many family and friends attended. We all love you, honey!

SAVES (Spay, Alter, Vaccinate Every Stray), an organization that rescues cats and kittens, would like to invite you to a fundraiser on March 19 at Vineyard Caterers in Aquebogue. There will be a four-course, sit-down dinner, cash bar, chinese auction, 50/50 raffle, Irish step-dancing by Mo Chuisle Moya Strast School of Dance, and a chance to win a free private reading with Dawn Joly, a psychic medium. Advance tickets are $55; $60 at the door. For more information, call SAVES at 722-0015. This is a great night out for a great cause.

Happy Valentine’s Day! Whether you spend it with your one true love or your favorite pet, I hope your day is simply awesome. Enjoy it to the fullest.

Until next time, be safe and take care. Bye.
