Cops: Riverhead man drove drunk with child in Mattituck

A Riverhead man was arrested on drunken driving charges Sunday after he was caught driving erratically in Mattituck with his 11-month-old child in the car, according to a police press release.

Valentin Garcia, 29, of was driving westbound on Road 48 shortly before 2 a.m. when police observed him changing his lane of travel in an unsafe manner, Southold Town police said.

After he was pulled over, police found him to be intoxicated, officials said.

Mr. Garcia was charged with DWI Leandra’s Law, a felony, and several traffic violations, police said.
