Cops: East Hampton man arrested for using fake ID at DMV

An East Hampton man was arrested for using a fake license to register a car with the Department of Motor Vehicles, Riverhead Town police said.

Clever G. Vintimilla-Romo, 38, used a forged Maryland license to register a motor vehicle in New York on April 15, 2014, police said.

Riverhead police arrested Mr. Vintmilla-Romo around 9:51 a.m. Tuesday and charged him with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and offering a false instrument for filing, police said.

He was then arraigned in Riverhead Justice Court and released on his own recognizance, police said.
