Town issues flood, traffic advisory after vehicles become stranded

Snow and ice melted by today’s sunny weather has caused major flooding on some roads, including Reeves Avenue, Doctor’s Path, the southern end of Hulse Landing Road and other low-lying roadways, according to a Riverhead Town press release.

“Do not attempt to drive over a flooded road,” the release states. “Turn around and go another way. If you become stranded, or in case of an emergency, dial 911 or call the Riverhead Police Department at 631-727-4500. Stay safe and, as always, stay informed.”
