Julia H. Deegan

Julia H. Deegan of Riverhead died March 28 at Hamptons Center for Rehabilitation in Southampton. She was 90. She was born May 25, 1924, in Bridgeport, Conn. to Charles and Florence Dennis. Ms. Deegan worked as a cashier for Off Track Betting.

Predeceased by her husband, James, in 1997 and her sisters, Florence Harvey and Agnes Holmes, Ms. Deegan is survived by her children, John, of North Carolina, Dorothy Hasheider of Riverhead, Dennis, of Islip and Julia Hart of Riverhead; her sisters Mary Cheshire and Barbara Downs; 1o grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors Monday, March 30, from 7 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 31, at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Riverhead. Interment will take place at Riverhead Cemetery.
