Cops: Drunk driver hit bicyclist near Hubbard Avenue bridge
A 71-year-old Center Moriches woman was arrested Monday on drunk driving charges in Riverhead after colliding her vehicle with a bicyclist, Riverhead Town police said.
Louise Stacey was driving a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria at around 8:15 p.m. on Route 105 when she struck a bicyclist near the Hubbard Avenue bridge, police said.
Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance treated the male victim for non-life threatening injuries and transported him to Peconic Bay Medical Center, officials said.
Ms. Stacey was charged at the scene with DWI and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, police said.
