Edward A. Geleski

Former longtime Glen Cove resident Edward A. Geleski of Riverhead, died May 9 at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. He was 78. 

He was born Aug. 25, 1936, in Glen Cove to Stephanna (Januszewiski) and Walter Geleski and attended Glen Cove High School. He married Mary Ellen (Nolan) in 1959 in Solon, Maine.

Mr. Geleski served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1962, serving on the regimental combat team El (P).

For 29 years, he worked as a tree cutter for the City of Glen Cove.

Family members said Mr. Geleski enjoyed fishing, golf, travel, spending time at the pool and spending time with family.

Mr. Geleski is survived by his wife; his sons, Edward, of Verona, N.J. and Gary,of the Bronx; his daughters, Pamela Ryan of Berkeley Springs, W. Va. and Diana Duncan of Iowa City, Iowa and three grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors tThursday, May 14, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Friday, May 15, at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Riverhead. Interment will take place at Calverton National Cemetery.
