Roanoke Avenue Elementary School students raised $2,110.87 to contribute to Pennies For Patients, an organization that benefits The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the school district announced.

Janine Weber’s fourth grade class won the contest by brining in the most pennies.

Millions of dollars have been raised since the mid-’90s through the charity. The funds are collected by elementary, middle school and high school students from across the country during a three-week period.

The students in Ms. Weber’s class posed for a picture with a big check made out to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
