Dorothy Passman Michna

Former Center Moriches resident Dorothy “Dot” Passman Michna, 91, of Vero Beach, Fla., passed away peacefully April 28, 2015. 

She was born to Margaret and Author Passman in New York City. They moved to Center Moriches and in 1943 she wed the love of her life, Anthony Michna. They lived in Center Moriches, where she was director of the American Heart Association of Suffolk County until 1976. At that time, she and Tony retired to Fort Pierce, Fla.

Dot was predeceased by her husband, Tony. They had three children, Robert (Eileen) Michna of Costa Mesa, Calif., Richard Michna of Vero Beach, and Margaret Bradley, who is deceased; four granddaughters and six great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 20, at 10:45 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Center Moriches. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Treasure Coast Hospice at tchospice.com. Arrangements were entrusted to McLaughlin Hepper Funeral Home in Riverhead.
