Man reports being threatened with handgun after Tanger theft

“Don’t come closer or I will shoot you.”

That’s what one Tanger Outlet shopper said he was told last night after he and another man had their shopping bags stolen from right next to their car.

Around 5:40 p.m., two men told police that they had placed three bags behind their car and when they walked to the front passenger side of it, a stranger took them and fled in a red vehicle.

After one of them chased the car on foot, according to a police report the driver turned around in the parking lot at some point and while passing him, told the man while showing what appeared to be a handgun, “Don’t come closer or I will shoot you.”

The car was described as a red, four-door Toyota.
