Art Beat: Jewelry trunk show, young artists’ contest

• East End Arts in Riverhead will host an artisan trunk show featuring glass jewelry by Marjorie Oxman of Remsenburg from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 20, in the EEA gallery. Ms. Oxman’s jewelry, which incorporates beads of colored glass with sterling silver and other fine materials, will be available for sale. 

• A free series of ‘Watercolor on the Vine’ classes will be offered by the Spiritual Renewal Center starting Sunday, June 21. Sessions, taught by Linda Berger, begin at 1 p.m. at Laurel Lake Vineyards; classes continue the third Sunday of each month through October.

Artists of all skill levels are welcome. Bring a sketch pad and pencil; all other supplies will be provided. Free-will offerings will be accepted.

Class size is limited to 12; call 727-2233 and leave a short, detailed message with name and phone number.

‘Novel Materials/New Techniques,’ a juried all-media art show, will open June 19 at the East End Arts gallery in Riverhead. Margery Gosnell-Qua, artist and curator of Suffolk County Community College’s Lyceum Gallery, is the guest juror.

The show will open with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 19, and continue through July 31.

Old Town Arts and Crafts Guild in Cutchogue is seeking submissions for its annual Young Artist Contest for ages 5 to 15. Work will be judged in three age categories. Each winner will receive $25 and professional art lessons with a guild member.

Each artist may submit one original drawing or painting, no larger than 9 inches by 12 inches. Entries will be accepted July 18 to July 31, with all work displayed at the guild’s art and craft fair Saturday, Aug. 1, on the Cut­chogue Village Green. Winners will be announced during the fair.
