Carl Pendzick

Carl Pendzick of Calverton died June 24 at his home. He was 98.

He was born Jan. 20, 1917, in Riverhead to Nastazy and Bronizlawa Pendzick. Mr. Pendzick was a farmer with his brother, Isadore, in Calverton. After years of farming, the brothers went into construction, building houses.

Mr. Pendzick was a marksman and a deputy sheriff during World War II. Family members said he kept the family supplied with fresh vegetables every year.

He was a devoted parishoner of St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead.

Mr. Pendzick had a large extended family of four sisters; three brothers and 24 nieces and nephews.

The family received visitors June 26 at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service was held June 27 at St. Isidore R.C. Church. Interment took place at the church cemetery.
