The victim told police he was walking near his home near the intersection of Osborne Avenue and Pulaski Street when he was struck in the head with an “unknown blunt object,” police said. The victim said three or four men attempted to steal a gold necklace from around his neck.

The victim managed to run away to a nearby friend’s house five blocks away on Parkway Street, where he was ultimately taken to the hospital, according to the news release. The victim suffered a bruise and a cut to his head, police said.
