Ex-employee charged with stealing from tasting room

CastilloPolice said a Riverhead man stole equipment and money last week from a Sound Avenue tasting room he used to work for.

According to authorities, detectives responded to a burglary investigation at the North Fork Tasting Room on July 9. At the time of the report, it was reported that a former employee entered the business overnight and removed computer equipment and assorted change.

Following an investigation, 26-year-old Edgar Castillo was arrested on July 16 and charged with burglary in the third degree. Police said some of the items that were stolen were recovered when Mr. Castillo was arrested.

He was processed and held for arraignment.

Mr. Castillo was also charged in relation to stealing construction equipment in December.
