The Disney movie Big Hero 6 will be shown as afundraiser for FRNCA Thursday.

The animated Disney movie Big Hero 6 will be shown at the David Crohan Community Center Thursday as a fundraiser for the Flanders, Riverside and Northampton Community Association.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and the movie will start at 6:30 p.m. The cost will be $20 per family and $15 per family for FRNCA members.

Candy, popcorn and soda is available for purchase.

The fundraiser is being organized by some of FRNCA’s newest members.

Ray Normoyle, the co-owner of Cohen’s Fashion Optical in Riverhead, donated the $150 license fee necessary to show the movie, Dory Denario of Dory’s Daycare in Flanders donated $50 worth of refreshments and will also work at the entrance table selling tickets and signing up new FRNCA members.

Ron Fisher organized the fundraiser and has put up signs around the neighborhood promoting it.

Big Hero 6, which was one of the top grossing pictures released in 2014, is the first Disney movie to incorporate characters from Marvel Comics, which Disney acquired in 2009.
