Flanders News: Get your rubber ducks for next month’s race

Hi, friends and neighbors. The annual rubber duck race at the Flanders Men’s Club will be held Aug. 29 at noon sharp. Rubber ducks can be purchased for $5 each by calling Ms. Fran at 727-5342. This event is fun for both kids and adults. There will be a cash prize of $100 for the duck that places first and many other prizes, including for last place. Come on down and join in the fun! I won’t see you there because I’m bringing my daughter back to college but I can’t wait to hear all about it.

Congratulations to JJ and Anne Lennon, who were married July 18. All their family and friends attended and everyone had a fabulous time celebrating the love. I saw the photos and everyone looked wonderful, especially the bride and groom.

More news from the Lennon/Shadecker family: John Shadecker celebrated his birthday July 24, and Debi on the 30th. JJ will celebrate his birthday on Aug. 2 and Miranda Lennon will turn 11 on Aug. 6. She will be celebrating in Baltimore at BronyCon, the world’s largest My Little Pony convention. Finally, happy birthday to Jimmy Lennon on Aug. 9.

Happy birthday today, July 23, to Brittany Meyer; Tim Booker, July 25; my dad, Jim Zaleski, July 29; Joan Kujawski and Bernadette Johnston, July 30; Melissa Messina, Aug. 4; and Deb Bouchard and Cindy Wells, Aug. 5. I hope everyone enjoys their special day.

Thanks to my good friends Michele and Kevin Dupis for making my birthday last Sunday very special. I spent the day floating around in their pool and it was great.
